| we stayed at Sandesh the Prince for 2 nights whilst touring south India and found it to be an excellent hotel certainly of a better quality than the other 3 star hotels we used.we could find fault with this place[even the internet was up to speed]and would happily recomend it |

| I stayed in this hotel last year but discontinued as service and rooms were bad. However, since it was recommended by you, I gave it a try again and was pleasantly surpised. Hotel has improved quite a lot and I would like to stay there again. |
| The Sandesh is a good hotel, a little on the expensive side given the standard in Mysore, but giving excellent service. We found the room quite spacious and good. However, the food could have been better. |

| The hotel was clean and staff efficient and bedrooms large and spacious. However in the evening the shower water was luke warm at best and in the morning was stone cold (mentioned to reception - but no apology offered only asked to fill in a survey form) The breakfast room is I believe undersized for size of hotel and food of mediocre standard. I believe as a hotel in a mainly tourist area the food should include some continental type food. |
| The good 1.Food is authentic and excellent 2.The place is quite neat and clean 3. Travel assistance is excellent. 4. The location is great. 5. Service is excellent (other than the front desk). The bad: 1. Does the promised/advertised facility really exist ?I wanted a hotel which had a play area for my kid, and didnt mind paying the price for it. Their home page says they have a play area and a games room for kids, and so , I booked with them. Turned out that the facility is non existant. On pointing that out, each person had a different explanation ( its not ready yet , its closed etc). So , thats cheating a guest by offering a facility that doesnt exist They also promise a doctor on call. On 23 Oct evening, my son got hurt and when I asked for the doctor , they were apologetic saying the doctor isnt in. On being asked about any nearby practitioner, all I got was vague directions to a nursing home "nearby". Contrast this with Presidente Inter Continental (Los Cabos, Mexico ) resort I stayed in where the they actually drove us 35 miles to a good hospital and back when the the in house doctor thought we should see a specialist. 2. The plumbing : The shower / tub could get me only hot water , and it was very hot. The cold water tap didnt work. The sink tap wouldnt open fully, the mirror obstructs the swivel of the tap The bath tub took ~50 minutes to fill up. So make sure you turn on the tap 2 hours in advance, 1 hour to fill up and 1 hour for the water to be bearably warn 3. The AC has no temperature setting. It is like a 3 step fan regulator, and for us , it was like 0 ..no AC,1.. cold, 2.. chilled and 3.. freezing. We kept the window open and switched on the celing fan 4. Safety First : They dont give you the key to lock the window, and if you have a hyperactive toddler , be careful. My 2 yr old climbed up, opened the unbarred window and was peeping out from the 3rd floor ,and I saw him just in the nick of time. 5. The TV always started at channel 1 irrespective of the channel I was watching when I turned it off earlier. Might be some setting I missed, but then, its the hotels reponsibility to ensure that things are in order before I come in. 6. Incessant and persistent hounding for advance payment : They called me thrice or four times in 2 days , initially asking for an advance and then continually checking if I would turn up. Since I had booked just 2 days prior to checkin, I mentioned that even if I sent them the advance , it sould still take at least 2 - 3 days for it to get processed, which doesnt serve any purpose When I checked in , they again asked for an advance, and debited me for an amount which was actually more than the room tariff for my duration of stay ( My stay was 2 days , and tariff was 3295/day, and they charged me 7000 upfront ). I have stayed in a wide variety of hotels , right from Hilton / InterContinental/Steigenberger to $30 a night motels to Rs 150 a night dorms, but nowhere have I felt such a ripoff as this place. The place is not worth the tariff it charges. |
| We checked the reviews here and thought of taking a calculated risk. I think we liked the hotel very much. It was nice, clean and the people were warm. The room was clean and the small problems in washroom were attended efficeintly. The food, the breakfast in the restaurant was very good. The staff there was very enthusiastic and helpful. The best part was the massage we had(package) - It was fantastic. My only small complain is the food/drinks prices are very high. Nothing is below Rs. 100/- (even a sandwitch/dosa). Overall good expereince |

| I have booked for executive room but in complimentary they gave us a high standard room, the room was not very luxurious but was clean and tidy. Vegetarian food was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly. Service was great. Its highly recommendable. |
| Booking a suite over the phone for a family of 2 adults and 2 children was easy. The suite was wood pannelled making a room a touch dark albeit stylish. They fitted an extra bed when asked. The hotel lobby is largeish although the decor is a bit garish and overstated. They are builiding a bar/pub place next to the hotel so there is some construction work at the entrance. The hotel bar (khedda is dire,no ambience). The restaurant is fine and waiters attentive. Room service is prompt. The bathroom is a bit of a downer. The room is geared more towards an indian clienteelle who wont mind soaking wet bathrooms. Our room was facing a main road and was noisy until well after midnight. All in all a 3 star hotel with 3 star prices, trying desparately to look and feel four star but i dont think it is there yet. The stained suit of the reception staff during check out was also the reason why. |
| We wanted to go to Mysore for the Dasara Festival and managed to book a room at the Sandesh at very short notice. It was not cheap by Indian standards but the price was reasonable. It is a very short walk to the Mysore Palace which was perfect for seeing the illuminations and going to the parade. The reception staff were very friendly and let me use their computers to access the internet for free. The room was not huge but it was modern and very clean. The breakfast was a very nice buffet and the lunch we had in the Indian restaurant was excellent. |
| We found the hotel and the service to be of a very good quality. The people were all pleasant, the room was clean and spacious and the service excellent. However, the food was a bit of a disappointment and could have been better. |
| My stay at Sandesh the Prince was a memorable one for all the wrong reasons. It was definitely not worth the money we paid for 2 nights. To start with, when we checked in, the receptionist did not even put up her head to make eye contact or to give a smile (basics in any hospitality industry). The facilities were sad and below average. Requests for towels and bathroom slippers took almost 30 minutes to be delivered and that too with 3 reminders during that period. Food was overpriced and not worth. Staff there was giving importance only to foreigners and Indians were not attended to with the same level of importance. This review is just to let everyone be aware of what you may face and to be prepared for the unexpected. |
| The hotel restaurant was very nice with complementary breakfast. I stayed in the Executive room, which was very comfortable. It room was great. Location is wonderful. I am satisfied with this hotel. |

| As per its 4* property its little disappointing at 31st night there was nothing special for dinner it was the same menu repeated, other way it was very good in taste. Hotel is centrally located which is convenient to travel any where. Room was large and well equipped. Staff and service was excellent. Its highly recommendable to others. |
