Register your credit card for 'extra' level of security (Mandatory)

To make online transactions safer, the Reserve Bank of India has made it mandatory for all online transactions to have an extra level of authentication, effective August 01, 2009.

This 'extra' level of security is a password that you will have to enter after submitting your Credit Card details when making online payments. You will need this password while transacting with as well as any other website in India.

This new security level is called VBV - Verified by Visa or MSC - MasterCard SecureCode.

How can I register my Credit Card for this mandatory 'extra' level of security?

To get an 'extra' password, you need to go through a simple process wherein you just need to log on to your bank's website, register your card for Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode and get your password. Different banks have different kinds of processes for card registration. So, please visit your bank's website now and register:

You can continue transacting with in 2 easy steps. They are as follows:

After submitting your Credit Card details on payment page, you will be redirected to your Bank's website.

Here, you will need to enter your Visa/MasterCard password. After doing so, you will be redirected back to page to complete your transaction.
